M7 To Host Cranes Team Today

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will this afternoon
host the nation’s Football team, the Cranes to a send-off luncheon at
the State House in Entebbe.Mujib Kasule, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Vice President in-charge of the League and member of the technical committee told local media that the invitation to State House indicated that the President wants to have a send-off luncheon with the team.

FIFA has confirmed.
“This is a very good gesture because dinning with the President means a lot to the entire team,” said Kasule.
The President’s invitation of the Cranes comes at the right time after the FA has been struggling to secure Shs428 million that was reportedly approved for preparations for the Senegal match.

Micho has government through the Ministry of Education and Sports to
stop the bureaucracy and act quickly to release the logistical funds for
the preparations.
The government promised to pay the allowances of the Cranes contingent that travelled for an International friendly against Egypt on August 14th, but the FA is still waiting for the funds.
But before the match against the West Africans, the Cranes travel to Botswana on Thursday ahead of an International friendly on August 31st in Gaborone. The team will return to Uganda on September 1st for a few hours before heading to Istanbul, Turkey for four days of training.
