Tears, Joy As Drs. Onzivua, Baryomunsi Are Cleared in Nebanda Trial
Senior Mulago Hospital pathologist Dr. Sylvester Onzivua on Monday morning broke down and cried uncontrollably after Buganda Road Court cleared him of two counts including unlawfully obtaining the body samples of the now deceased Butaleja Woman MP Cerinah Nebanda with an intent to fly them to South Africa for further examination.Dr. Onzivua had been jointly charged with Kinkizi East Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Chris Baryomunsi for conspiring together to obtain the alleged body samples.
Chief Magistrate Olive Kazarwe ruled that Drs. Onzivua and Baryomunsi have no case to answer before Court since their actions do not constitute any offences as they were done in broad daylight, documented and facilitated by taxpayers’ money.

Speaking to the press after the ruling, the doctors insisted that they still want an explanation from the state and police on what killed the vibrant and outspoken MP. The doctors also say that they will seek compensation from the state for malicious prosecution.
