BRAVO! Aronda Lauds Kayihura For Transforming Police
Uganda’s
Internal Affairs Minister General Aronda Nyakairima on Friday 6
September poured praise on the country’s Inspector General of Police
(IGP) General Kale Kayihura thanking him for transforming the Police
from a nomadic force to one with a permanent office.General Aronda made these remarks during his visit to the Police Headquarters in Naguru, a Kampala suburb.
“In my political education teachings, I put a line between the old Uganda and the new Uganda. The old Uganda is where police where nomadic. They would be chased from one place to another but now there’s a home,” Gen. Aronda said referring to the new home.
Aronda was accompanied by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary. The two were received by the IGP, the police advisory committee, the deputy director of logistics together with his Engineers.
The Minister also met the Directors of Uganda Police for the first time since he was appointed to head the ministry.He reiterated the need for police to keep an eye on service delivery to ensure that government funds are put to proper use. He said this can be achieved by reinforcing a service delivery monitoring mechanism.

He emphasized the importance of the East African Community and urged officers to embrace the East African integration as it will help in fighting transnational border crimes.
He also thanked Police Officers for the great work they have been doing in protecting the people and urged them to continue with the same spirit saying he has come to re energize them.
